Lyra Launches the Erodion EVO Step-Up Transformer

,

Known for its high performance cartridges, Lyra has just released the Erodion EVO step-up transformer. The Erodion EVO is a terrific fit with any low-impedance cartridge of 2 to 10 ohms but was designed especially for Lyra cartridges.

According to Lyra, the passive (it uses no electrical power) Erodion EVO has wider bandwidth and dynamic range than other step-up transformers, resulting in music that sounds more open and detailed. Used with Lyraโ€™s SL cartridges, the Erodion EVO delivers an utterly addictive and punchy musicality that may be unrivalled by any other SUT used with an SL cartridge.

Additionally, the Erodion EVO is said to produce less noise and a more natural, lifelike presentation than most phono stages, which means that when paired with quality high-gain, low-noise phono stages, audio enthusiasts will be treated to sound that is tonally pure and explicitly revealing, with a sense of musical “completeness” that will make it harder than ever to stop listening to records.
