Davide Lo Surdo, born on July 24th 1999 in Rome, Italy, is an Italian guitarist who has made a significant mark in music history, earning the title of the fastest guitarist in the history of music, as described by Rolling Stone Brazil magazine, for his remarkable ability to play a staggering 129 notes per second.
Lo Surdoโs recognition extends to his inclusion in the music history book โRock Memories Vol. 2,โ penned by Maurizio Baiata, alongside legendary artists such as the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, and more. Notably, he graces the front cover of this book, while the iconic Jim Morrison of The Doors appears on the back cover.
His signature guitar, the โDLS1โ model, has been permanently given to the American museum โSigal Music Museumโ, where instruments once played by luminaries like Mozart and Chopin are preserved. Lo Surdoโs journey with the guitar began at the tender age of 9, and by the age of 13, he performed a momentous concert at the โAuditorium Parco della Musicaโ in Rome, where he astounded an audience of over 1200 with a solo performance that included playing behind his head. Lo Surdoโs career has taken him on numerous tours across the world, in countries as diverse as India, Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, the US, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and his home country, Italy. His performances have graced iconic venues, including the โWhisky a Go Goโ in Hollywood, California, where he performed on January 26, 2019. On November 20, 2021, Lo Surdo took the stage at the โRolling Stone Music & Runโ event in Brazil, marking the 15th anniversary celebration of Rolling Stone Magazine Brasil. The event was held at the โSambรณdromo do Anhembiโ arena in Sรฃo Paulo. Throughout his career, Lo Surdo collaborated with a multitude of celebrated musicians, including Jeff Loomis, Steve Vai, Mike Stern, Doogie White, Mark Boals, Edu Falaschi, and many others.
