Global launch alert! Gershman Acoustics was showcasing its Symphoria loudspeaker ($70,000/pair), and it sounded marvelous. The speaker uses two 8โ woofers, tuned at slightly different frequencies, while the tweeter and midrange are housed in a separate โfloatingโ chamber that can be tilted to optimize frequency response.
Driving the speakers were an Oracle Delphi Mk VII Signature turntable ($21,500) fitted with a Reference-1 tonearm, ($9000) and Corinth low output MC cartridge ($3250), an Allnic H5500 phone preamp ($6600), and an Eon Art class-D integrated amplifier ($89,500). The equipment rack was by Solid Meuble, while cabling was Cardas.
Also on display but not playing when I visited was an Oracle CD 2500 Mk IV CD transport ($24,500) and an Eon Art Tachyon DAC ($79,400).
The system produced big, rich sound with beautiful tone, solid imaging, and a solid bass foundation.
