Montreal, Quebec, January 2026 – Forté Distribution, a leading distributor of high-performance audio products in the United States, today announced the upcoming U.S. availability of the Luxsin X8 Intelligent DAC & Headphone Amplifier.
The X8 is Luxsin’s second product, following the successful release of the X9 reference-grade DAC and headphone amplifier. Developed as a refinement and expansion of the technologies introduced with the X9, the X8 incorporates a revised hardware architecture, enhanced digital processing, and expanded DSP functionality, while maintaining a strong focus on sound quality, stability, and long-term reliability.
At the heart of the X8 is a true dual-mono parallel DAC architecture built around eight Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chips, with four DACs operating in parallel per channel. Left and right channels are fully independent in power supply, circuit layout, and signal path to minimize crosstalk and interference. The parallel analog outputs are precisely summed to reduce noise and improve dynamic range, signal-to-noise ratio, and low-level detail.
Each DAC is individually shielded to isolate it from digital circuitry and high-frequency interference while aiding thermal balance. A dedicated high-speed buffering and clock distribution system ensures all DACs operate within the same reference clock domain for precise synchronization.
The X8 introduces Luxsin’s proprietary Digital Audio Core, a high-performance processing module based on a dual-core HiFi-5 DSP and ARM architecture. Operating at over 500 MHz with large on-chip SRAM, the platform provides the computational headroom required for advanced real-time audio processing, system tuning, and future feature expansion, including edge-level AI audio processing.
Among the X8’s advanced features is AI-assisted parametric EQ tuning, allowing users to adjust overall sound character or fine-tune specific parameters using voice or text commands via a mobile app or web-based interface. The X8 also incorporates Luxsin’s HP-EQ system, a hardware-level headphone EQ solution designed to match headphone frequency response to target curves, with support for a growing database of more than 2,500 headphone models.
The headphone amplifier stage is designed for demanding loads, using multiple OPA1612 op-amps and TPA6120A2 high-current drivers to independently drive each channel. The result is high output capability, low distortion, and fast transient response suitable for flagship headphones. A full-interface impedance detection system automatically matches gain settings across all headphone outputs while remaining isolated from the audio signal path.
Power is supplied by a fully separated linear power supply with independent digital and analog rails, real-time monitoring, and selectable analog voltage operation for increased system control and noise isolation.
The X8 features a CNC-machined aluminum chassis and a 4.0-inch full-color touchscreen angled for improved ergonomics. Control options include mobile apps (iOS and Android), a web-based interface for macOS and Windows, optional IR remote control, and support for local and online firmware updates.
Connectivity includes USB-B, USB-C, optical, coaxial, and IIS digital inputs, along with balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs, multiple headphone outputs, and 12V trigger in/out for system integration.
The Luxsin X8 Intelligent DAC & Headphone Amplifier is expected to be available through authorized Forté Distribution dealers in the United States. Pricing and final availability will be announced closer to launch.
