The first pipa concerto composed in the Western world, this remarkable work by Quebec composer Christian Thomas is performed by the internationally renowned virtuoso Liu Fang. Described as “the empress of the pipa” (L’actualité) and “an ambassador of musical soul and spirituality” (La Scena Musicale), Liu Fang brings this unique composition to life with unmatched mastery and emotion.

Recorded at the Maison symphonique de Montréal, this album pays tribute to the Chinese Year of the Dragon, offering a magnificent celebration of cultural and musical fusion. Embark on the dragon’s musical journey, tracing its majestic evolution from hatchling to emperor.

For audiophiles, a special vinyl edition, mastered by René Laflamme, will be available in January (exact date to be announced).
